1969'da Lee Boysel, daha önce Fairchild'da tasarladığı 8-bit aritmetik mantık birimlerini (3800/3804) temel alarak, 32-bit'e genişletilebilir bir 8-bit CPU dilimi olan Four-Phase Systems Inc. AL-1'i yarattı.
