Time: Jul, 1777
Place: Upstate New York, Vermont, U.S.
Details: In July 1777, British General John Burgoyne led the Saratoga campaign south from Quebec through Lake Champlain and recaptured Fort Ticonderoga with the objective of dividing New England, including control of the Hudson River.
