Details: Czechoslovak Legion saw action for the first time on July 2, 1917. That’s when a detachment of 3,500 from the unit stormed the Austrian trenches at Zborov in present-day Ukraine. Czechoslovak Legion troops defeated the Austro-Hungarian army at the Ukrainian village of Zborov.
