Ancient Egypt - Declining of "Amarna Period" power

Time: 1330s BC

Place: Minya, Egypt

Details: Later Egyptians considered this "Amarna Period" an unfortunate aberration. The events following Akhenaten's death are unclear. Individuals named Smenkhkare (Reign Period 1335–1334 BC) and Neferneferuaten (Reign Period 1334–1332 BC) are known but their relative placement and role in history is still much debated; Neferneferuaten was likely Akhetaten's Great Royal Wife Nefertiti's regnal name as pharaoh.
