Ancient Greece - Two leagues
Time: 4th Century BC
Place: Greece
Details: The city-states within Greece formed themselves into two leagues; the Achaean League (including Thebes, Corinth, and Argos) and the Aetolian League (including Sparta and Athens). For much of the period until the Roman conquest, these leagues were at war, often participating in the conflicts between the Diadochi (the successor states to Alexander's empire).
