What happened January 1990 AD

In January 1990, the Yugoslav government announced it would press ahead with the creation of a multi-party system.

In January 1990, the League of Communists broke up on ethnic lines, with the Croatian and Slovene factions demanding a looser federation at the 14th Extraordinary Congress.

On 2 January 1990, Mongolian Democratic Union began distributing leaflets calling for a democratic revolution. When the government did not comply with this and later, more aggressive demands, demonstrations occurred.

Noriega remained at large for several days, but realizing he had few options in the face of a massive manhunt and a $1 million reward for his capture, he obtained refuge in the Vatican diplomatic mission in Panama City. The U.S. military's psychological pressure on him and diplomatic pressure on the Vatican mission, Noriega finally surrendered to the U.S. military on 3 January 1990. He was immediately put on an MC-130E Combat Talon I aircraft and flown to the U.S.

The tower was closed to the public on 7 January 1990.

On 14 January 1990, the protesters, having grown from three hundred to some 1,000, met on square in front of Lenin Museum which was named as Freedom Square since then in Ulaanbaatar.

A demonstration on Sükhbaatar Square on 21 January (in weather of -30 C) followed the Freedom Square demonstration.

Operation Just Cause ends, and beginning Operation Promote Liberty to rebuild the Panamanian military and civilian infrastructure.
