Supachai was the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) from 1 September 2002 to 1 September 2005.

On 12 September 2002, Jolie petitioned the court to legally remove her surname, Voight, in favor of her middle name, which she had long used as a stage name; the name change was granted.

On 18 September 2002, Vodafone signed a Partner Network Agreement with the MTC group of Kuwait. The agreement involved the rebranding of MTC to MTC-Vodafone.

In September of that year, Best Buy opened the first Canadian Best Buy-branded store in Mississauga, Ontario.
