Theresa Mary May MP (born 1 October 1956) is a British politician serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2016. She served as Home Secretary from 2010 to 2016, and served as Leader of the Conservative Party from 2016 to 2019. May was first elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Maidenhead in 1997. Ideologically, she identifies herself as a one-nation conservative.
