Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon - Margaret made the first of many trips to the Caribbean
Time: Jan, 1955
Place: The Caribbean
Details: In January 1955 Margaret made the first of many trips to the Caribbean, perhaps to distract, and as a reward for being apart, from Townsend. The attaché secretly traveled to Britain; while the palace was aware of one visit, he reportedly made other trips for nights and weekends with the princess at Clarence House—her apartment had its own front door—and friends' homes.
