Charles was born on August 3, 1963, in Nigeria. Born in the Nigerian ethnic group Yoruba, he spent most of his early years in Nigeria and later migrated to Greece.
He married his loving wife, Veronica Antetokoumpo, in Nigeria. However, the exact date of their wedding is not revealed yet, but they were married in the presence of family, relatives, and elders.
Charles Antetokoumpo fathered his first child Francis Antetokounmpo in Laos, Nigeria, on October 20, 1988. For the sake of their child’s lifestyle, they immigrated to Athens, Greece.
After moving to Greece in 1992, Charles had a second child, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who later made a massive name in the basketball scene.
Giannis Sina Ugo Adetokunbo was born in Athens, Greece, on December 6, 1994, the son of immigrants from Nigeria.
In 1997, Charles had his other child Kostas Antetokounmpo, A famous greek professional basketball player, Konstantinos Ndubuisi “Kostas” Antetokounmpo, plays for LDLC ASVEL of the French Betclic Élite and the Euro league.
In 2001, Charles had his younger son Alex Antetokounmpo. Currently, Alex is the youngest brother of National Basketball Association (NBA) players Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas.
In 2011, Antetokounmpo played with the senior men's team of Filathlitikos in the semi-pro Greek B Basket League (Third Division) during the 2011–12 season.
Giannis led the Buck to their first championship in 50 years in the 2021 NBA Final.
On September 19, 2016, Antetokounmpo agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Bucks.
Charles was buried in Forest Home Cemetary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. He died on September 29. 2017 at the age of 54.
