Modern technologies that are shaping our present and future

Inventions are an essential part of history that formulated our present and make us live the life we are living nowadays, some inventions were harmful and some other inventions were useful to humanity, but some were a huge leap in their fields or even opened the barrier to a whole new field, we'd love to share the story of technologies and inventions that formulated our present and crafted the history. Know the story of Bitcoin the virtual currency that took over the world and caught it by surprise, Virtual Reality that got us into a whole new dimension with amazing simulation capabilities, Cameras that recorded the world past on tape, Computers that took us to outer space with accurate calculations, and the Internet that you are using right now to surf the web and read all these amazing stories on our website!

Cameras

Canon Camera
4th Century to Present

A camera is an optical instrument used to record images. At their most basic, cameras are sealed boxes (the camera body) with a small hole (the aperture) that allow light in to capture an image on a light-sensitive surface (usually photographic film or a digital sensor). Cameras have various mechanisms to control how the light falls onto the light-sensitive surface. Lenses focus the light entering the camera, the size of the aperture can be widened or narrowed to let more or less light into the camera, and a shutter mechanism determines the amount of time the photosensitive surface is exposed to the light.

Computer

Old Computers - image
Sunday Jan 1, 1888 to Present

A computer is a machine that can be instructed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations automatically via computer programming. Modern computers have the ability to follow generalized sets of operations, called programs. These programs enable computers to perform an extremely wide range of tasks. A "complete" computer including the hardware, the operating system (main software), and peripheral equipment required and used for "full" operation can be referred to as a computer system. This term may as well be used for a group of computers that are connected and work together, in particular a computer network or computer cluster.

Laser

A laser beam used for welding
1960 to Present

A laser is a device that emits light through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. The term "laser" originated as an acronym for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation". The first laser was built in 1960 by Theodore H. Maiman at Hughes Research Laboratories, based on theoretical work by Charles Hard Townes and Arthur Leonard Schawlow.

Microprocessor

Intel microprocessor
Monday Nov 15, 1971 to Present

A microprocessor is a computer processor that incorporates the functions of a central processing unit on a single integrated circuit (IC), or at most a few integrated circuits. The microprocessor is a multipurpose, clock driven, register based, digital integrated circuit that accepts binary data as input, processes it according to instructions stored in its memory and provides results as output. Microprocessors contain both combinational logic and sequential digital logic. Microprocessors operate on numbers and symbols represented in the binary number system.
